How to play sic bo

Whether you’ve tried dice games before or you’re a newcomer to the genre, sic bo is a fun, easy-to-learn option that’s a good time for players of all levels. After just a few games, you’ll be able to roll with it—we guarantee.

Getting started

The sic bo table has a lot going on, but you’ll get up to speed quickly. The game is played with three dice, which are “tossed” by the dealer. (The dealer doesn’t actually touch the dice, she uses an electronic dice shaker in which the dice are fully enclosed.) The sic bo table shows betting options every combination of the three dice, along with the payouts for winning bets.

There are two main types of bets in sic bo.:

  1. You can bet on the sum total of the three dice after they’re rolled, or
  2. You can bet on which individual numbers come up on one, two, or all three of the dice.

Within these two types of bets are many options which you can explore as you learn.

Here's how the game works:

Step Instructions
1 Place your bets on the sic bo table. Remember, you can bet on what numbers will come up when the dice are rolled, or you can bet on the sum of the three dice.
2 The dealer shakes the dice, often using an electronic dice shaker.
3 See if you won!

Odds of winning

Sic bo is a game of pure chance. You simply bet on the results of the roll of three dice. There’s no skill to be learned, no way to predict what will happen on each independent roll, and no decisions you can make that will change your odds of winning.
